CURRICULUM

The Naturopathic Approach to Mental Health course looks at the relationship between the gut-brain connection and neurofeedback. A study observing the connection between intestinal and psychological distress.  This applied dissertation was designed to demonstrate the effectiveness of neurofeedback in treating intestinal distress, such as IBS and constipation, through the reduction of anxiety and depression symptoms.

The course is separated into two Parts:

Part A: Videos – There are 6 lessons which include several videos regarding mental health problems. Also, there are some notes about each video which are very useful towards completing the assignment questions and Final Exam.

Part B: consists of 7 lessons, which include a study observing the connection between intestinal and psychological distress. The structure is the following:

Lesson 2 – The Cranial and Gut-Brain – A Review of the Literature

Lesson 3 – The Connection between Stress, Psychological Challenges and Poor Intestinal Health

Lesson 4 – Gastrointestinal Problems and Mental Health

Lesson 5 – Results and Conclusions of Gastrointestinal Study

Lesson 6 – Individual Case Studies

Lesson 7 – Discussion of Gastrointestinal Case Studies
